Business Visas

The Business Visa permits individuals to come to the UK and set up a new business, or join or take over an existing business. You must have at least £200,000 under your control, which is available for you to use in the UK and which is held in your name (it is not held by trust or other investment arrangements), with the aim of investing it in a business in the UK.

A Business Visa is initially granted for a maximum period of two years. This visa is extendable, assuming all relevant requirements are satisfied, and it may eventually lead to permanent residence and British Nationality.

In order to qualify for this Visa it is essential to present a detailed business plan outlining your intentions in the UK. It is not necessary to have previous business experience.

Dependants may be able to accompany/join you on your application. They may also be able to work without any restrictions.

Sole Representatives Visa

This visa type is perfect for companies wanting to expand their business abroad and set up in the UK. An overseas company is allowed to send one representative to the UK to set up a branch or subsidiary. This includes carrying out market research, registering the company in the UK and negotiating with suppliers and customers.

Although the nominated representative must have the authority to make day-to-day decisions in the UK they cannot be a director or major shareholder in the company.

To qualify for a Sole Representative Visa you must meet the following requirements:

You must have been recruited and taken on as an employee outside the UK as a representative of a company which has its main office outside of the UK without a branch, subsidiary or other representative in the UK.

You must be a senior employee with authority for decision making on behalf of the overseas company with respects to setting up the branch in the UK.

You must be employed full time as a representative of the overseas firm.

You must not take up any employment other than that relating to your work for the overseas firm.

You must be able to financially maintain and accommodate yourself and any dependants without recourse to public funds.

Leave to remain in this category can be extended up to a total of 3 years


Inovators Visa

The UK Innovators visa is aimed largely at the IT and telecommunications sectors however, it is available to a wider variety of industries and is chiefly concerned with people who wish to relocate to the UK with some investment capital and an innovative idea which will be of benefit to the United Kingdom.

Investors Visa

You need to show that you have access to not less than £1 million of your own money that you will take to the UK, and which must not be held in trust, or you own personal assets which, taking into account your liabilities, are worth more than £2 million, and you have not less than £1 million under your control in the UK. (This can include money loaned by a financial institution regulated by the Financial Services Authority.)

You must also show that you intend to invest not less than £750,000 in active and trading UK-registered companies or UK government bonds
intend to make the UK your main home, and can support yourself and your dependants and live without having to work as an employee or getting any help from public funds.
